The NHL has postponed the Buffalo Sabres‘ games through at least Feb. 8 after two of their players were placed on the COVID-19 Protocol list, Taylor Hall and Rasmus Ristolainen, the league announced Tuesday.
The team’s training facilities have been closed, effective immediately, until further notice.
The announcement comes a day after the league postponed the New Jersey Devils‘ games through at least Feb. 6.
The Devils played back-to-back games against the Sabres in Buffalo on Saturday and Sunday. Centre Travis Zajac missed Saturday’s game after being added to the NHL’s COVID Protocol list and forward Kyle Palmieri did not play Sunday and was also added.
On Tuesday, the Devils’ presence on the COVID list surged to 14 players, including: Jesper Bratt, Connor Carrick, Aaron Dell, Jack Hughes, Andreas Johnsson, Janne Kuokkanen, Michael McLeod, Damon Severson, Ty Smith, Matt Tennyson, Sami Vatanen, Pavel Zacha, Palmieri and Zajac.
The NHL said it is in the process of revising the Sabres’ schedule and a decision on the team’s games next week is expected in the coming days.
