NHL Waiver Report: Penguins waive McGinn, Friedman, Ducks claim Harrington

There was a series of waiver transactions in the NHL on Tuesday as teams prepare for the upcoming trade deadline on Friday.

Per Elliotte Friedman, the Pittsburgh Penguins placed forward Brock McGinn and defenseman Mark Friedman on waivers.

If unclaimed, they will report to the Penguins' AHL affiliate in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

McGinn has 10 goals and 15 points in 59 games this season. Friedman has been in and out of the lineup, scoring one goal in 11 games with the Penguins.

Defenceman Scott Harrington was claimed by the Anaheim Ducks after being placed on waivers by the New Jersey Devils on Monday.

The native of Kingston, Ont. had one goal and seven points in 28 games with San Jose before being traded to New Jersey in the Timo Meier deal.

Meanwhile, Buffalo goalie Michael Houser cleared waivers. Houser has a .903 save percentage in 14 games for the AHL's Rochester Americans this season.
