Johnny Gaudreau's impact continues to be remembered across the hockey world.
The Ohio State women's hockey team arrived at Wrigley Field in matching Gaudreau's No. 13 Columbus Blue Jackets jerseys ahead of their outdoor game against Wisconsin on Saturday.
The matchup is part of the Frozen Confines Big Ten Hockey Series at Wrigley Field following the NHL Winter Classic held there on Wednesday.
The Buckeyes are based in Columbus, the same city where Gaudreau starred for two seasons with the Blue Jackets. Gaudreau and his brother Matthew died in August after they were struck by an alleged drunk driver while riding their bicycles.
The Blue Jackets will visit Ohio State for an outdoor game against the Detroit Red Wings at Ohio Stadium on March 1.
The United States' world junior team also honoured Gaudreau this week by hanging up his jersey in their locker room before each of their games at the IIHF World Junior Championship in Ottawa.
Gaudreau won world juniors gold with the United States in 2013 after scoring a tournament-high seven goals.
