The Edmonton Oilers will be looking to pick up their sixth win in seven outings as they host the Vegas Golden Knights in their return to action Tuesday night as -115 home favourites on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
The Oilers’ recent surge comes on the heels of a 2-9-2 run that dropped them out of the Western Conference playoff picture. However, Edmonton has shown steady form while allowing just 2.50 goals per game during the 5-0-1 run it takes into Tuesday night’s matchup at Rogers Place.
Edmonton’s current surge leaves the team just three points back of the Calgary Flames in the race for the second wild card berth in the West. The Oilers have also claimed victory in two previous meetings this season with the Golden Knights, according to the OddsShark NHL Database, and have earned the win in three of five all-time clashes with Vegas on home ice.
The Golden Knights look to win three in a row for the first time since mid-December as they ride into Edmonton as -105 underdogs. The team’s recent inconsistent form has diminished its lead atop the Pacific Division standings to just two points. However, Vegas has remained a force on the road, posting wins in nine of its past 12 games away from T-Mobile Arena.
Elsewhere on the Tuesday NHL odds, the Winnipeg Jets search for their first win on home ice since mid-December when they host the Minnesota Wild as +115 underdogs. The Jets find themselves on the verge of a lost season after posting just one win in their past eight contests, and they have scored more than two goals just twice in their past seven outings.
As well, the Montreal Canadiens have an opportunity to snap a six-game losing streak Tuesday night when they host the freefalling New Jersey Devils as -130 chalk. The Canadiens’ losing streak includes three straight home defeats, and they have dropped seven of eight against a Devils team that travels to Montreal as +110 underdogs.
Also on the board, the Vancouver Canucks aim to snap a three-game home losing streak as they entertain the Arizona Coyotes as heavy -260 favourites, while the Ottawa Senators host the Metropolitan Division-leading Carolina Hurricanes as +240 underdogs.
The Canucks return home after picking up a pair of wins on their recent four-game road trip, but have tallied just four total goals over their past three contests. Vancouver’s spotty offence has fueled a 7-3 run for the UNDER in totals betting. Losers in six of their past seven, the Coyotes are set as lengthy +215 underdogs, but they did tally a 3-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche in their most recent road contest.
