Edmonton Oliers head coach Jay Woodcroft said that defenceman Tyson Barrie will miss Saturday night's game against the Montreal Canadiens.

Barrie left Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Chicago Blackhawks with an upper-body injury in the second period and is listed as day-to-day. He will likely miss at least three games total. Rookie defenceman Philip Broberg was called up from AHL Bakersfield on Friday.

Barrie has notched three goals and 20 assists in 49 games this season.

Woodcroft also confirmed that Mike Smith would get the start against the visiting Habs.

Smith has a 5-7-1 record for the Oilers this season. He comes back between the pipes after backing up Mikko Koskinen in Edmonton's last two games.
