Travis Dermott is an Oiler once again.
Edmonton announced Wednesday that it claimed the left-shot defenceman off waivers from the Minnesota Wild.
Dermott, 28, opened the 2024-25 season playing for the Oilers after signing a one-year, two-way deal worth $775,000 in October.
He played 10 games for Edmonton before being claimed off waivers by Minnesota in December, playing nine games there. He has yet to record a point this season.
A native of Newmarket, Ont., Dermott was drafted 34th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2015. He spent several seasons in the organization and also had stints with the Vancouver Canucks and Arizona Coyotes.
Across 348 career NHL games, he has 62 points (16 goals and 46 assists).
