The Edmonton Oilers are preparing for Evander Kane to make his return to the lineup Thursday night against the league-leading Boston Bruins, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
Kane has been out since Feb. 17 with an upper-body injury. In 24 games this season, the 31-year-old winger has nine goals and 19 points.
Oilers general manager Ken Holland announced last week that the hope was for Kane to make his return against the Bruins, and that at worst he would return March 14 against the Ottawa Senators. Barring an unforeseen setback, Kane is expected to hit the ice for the marquee matchup.
The Oilers have a 35-22-8 record and are currently sitting in a wild-card position in the Western Conference.
You can watch Connor McDavid and the Oilers take on the juggernaut Bruins Thursday live on Sportsnet at 7:30 p.m. ET / 5:30 p.m. MT.
