Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane was back on the ice skating for the first time since he underwent surgery for a cut on his wrist three weeks ago.
Kane was seen stickhandling with both hands on the stick. The 31-year-old underwent surgery three weeks ago after being cut across his wrist by the skate of Philippe Myers.
Kane recently told Scott Oake on After Hours that he had not been able to recover the feeling in his thumb from the severed nerves. Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported in 32 Thoughts that he followed with a couple of doctors who indicated that is not unusual and not — at this point — a cause for concern.
At the time, Kane was expected to be out three to four months. Kane, who signed a four-year contract $20.5-million contract with the Oilers in the off-season, has five goals and eight assists over 13 games this season.
