Fresh off the news that Thursday’s game between the Oilers and Canadiens has been delayed for the completion of test results, Edmonton forward Jesse Puljujarvi has been added to the NHL’s COVID-19 Protocol list.
Puljujarvi was absent from the Oilers’ practice Thursday morning with James Neal taking his usual spot on the wing alongside Connor McDavid and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.
The NHL announced later Thursday that Edmonton’s matchup with Montreal had been pushed back from 7 p.m. ET to 8 p.m. ET.
Oilers goaltender Mikko Koskinen was also held out of Thursday’s contest.
A total of 35 games have been postponed in the NHL so far this season, however, teams in the North Division have not had their schedule interrupted yet.
Other new entrants on the NHL’s COVID-19 Protocol list Thursday were forwards Anthony Duclair (Florida Panthers), Jakub Voracek and Morgan Frost (Philadelphia Flyers), and Filip Chytil (New York Rangers).
