Edmonton Oilers forward Jujhar Khaira has been ruled out for the remainder of Monday’s game against the Calgary Flames with an injury from a fight, the team announced.
Khaira was injured in a first-period fight with Brett Ritchie after being shaken up from a punch to the head. He immediately went to the locker room after the fight and didn’t return to the game.
Defenceman Tyson Barrie was also unable to finish the game with a lower-body injury. After missing most of the second period, Barrie re-joined his teammates briefly for a skate after the second intermission but he returned to the room before taking a shift.
