Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane will join the team on its upcoming road trip and begin skating Saturday, according to general manager Ken Holland.
Holland also said that he expects Kane could return to the Oilers' lineup as early as Thursday against the Boston Bruins, and that his return will be no later than March 14 when the Oilers take on the Ottawa Senators.
Kane has been out since Feb. 17 with an upper-body injury. In 24 games this season, Kane has nine goals and 19 points.
The Oilers have a 33-21-8 record and are currently sitting in a wild-card position in the Western Conference. Holland made a big splash acquiring defenceman Mattias Ekholm prior to the trade deadline to try and push his team towards a Stanley Cup.
You can watch Connor McDavid and the Oilers take on the Winnipeg Jets Friday live on Sportsnet at 9:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. MT.
