The Edmonton Oilers will be without defenceman Duncan Keith and forward Zach Kassian for the foreseeable future.
Keith is in concussion protocol and has some upper-body soreness after falling hard into the boards in Wednesday’s loss to the Chicago Blackhawks. Keith got his feet tied up with Blackhawks forward Sam Lafferty and went into the boards.
The Oilers’ 38-year-old blue-liner laid on the ice before getting helped off, and he went straight to the dressing room. In 34 games this season, Keith has one goal and 14 points.
In the same game, Kassian suffered a fractured jaw and is expected to miss four-to-eight weeks. In 35 games this season, the 31-year-old has five goals and 14 points.
