The Oilers also placed forward Tim Soderlund on unconditional waivers for purposes of termination.
Turris is on the final season of a two-year, $3.3 million deal signed with the Oilers in 2020. In 48 games played since signing, the 32-year-old only has nine points.
Soderlund, 23, is on the final season of a three-year entry-level deal he signed with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2019. He was acquired by the Oilers as part of the Duncan Keith-Caleb Jones exchange over the off-season. Soderlund has gone scoreless in seven games with the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors this season.
The Oilers are currently on an extended slump that has seen the team drop 13 of 15 games.
