With Stuart Skinner banged up, the Edmonton Oilers added a goalie to their roster.
Edmonton recalled goaltender Olivier Rodrigue on an emergency basis from the AHL, the team announced Thursday.
The Oilers lent forward Derek Ryan to Bakersfield in a corresponding move.
Rodrigue, 24, has a 3.05 goals-against average and .899 save percentage in 40 games for the Bakersfield Condors this season. He is still waiting to make his NHL debut.
Skinner saw his night cut short on Wednesday after being struck in the head by the knee of Dallas Stars winger Mikko Rantanen.
Head coach Kris Knoblauch told reporters after the game that he doesn't anticipate Skinner travelling with the team for Thursday's away game in Seattle.
Skinner's primary backup, Calvin Pickard, is expected to start against the Kraken.
Edmonton (41-25-5) entered the game in third place in the Pacific Division.
