The Edmonton Oilers have forward James Stefan to a three-year entry-level contract.
Stefan, 20, scored a career-high with 48 goals and 99 points in 64 games this season. He recorded three hat tricks and 33 multi-point efforts this season and ranks fifth in goals in the WHL and ninth in points.
The Long Beach, Calif., native and son of former NHLer Patrik Stefan went undrafted and attended the Ottawa Senators prospect camp this past off-season. Through 251 career games with Portland, Stefan has 109 goals and 254 points.
