The Edmonton Oilers have signed goalie Stuart Skinner to a three-year extension worth $2.6 million per season, the team announced Monday.
Drafted 78th overall by Edmonton in 2017, Skinner has played 33 games with the Oilers, posting a .912 save percentage and 2.82 goals-against average across three seasons.
The 2022-23 season is his first as an NHL regular, promoted from the Bakersfield Condors to serve as a backup to newly-acquired goaltender Jack Campbell.
Skinner has taken over as the Oilers' primary starter amid free agent Campbell's struggles this season. In 19 games, the Edmonton native has a .915 save percentage, leading the club to nine of their 17 wins thus far.
The 24-year-old was a pending restricted free agent and will be an unrestricted free agent when this contract expires.
