The Edmonton Oilers made a third-period goaltender change in Game 4 on Sunday.
Backup Calvin Pickard led the team onto the ice to start the final frame against the Vancouver Canucks as Stuart Skinner watched from the bench. Skinner played the first two periods, allowing four goals on 15 shots.
After a strong series against the Los Angeles Kings, Skinner has been shaky in Round 2, with save percentages below .900 for Games 1 and 2. He was in net when the Canucks mounted their improbable three-goal comeback in Game 1.
"We need more saves," Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch told reporters after the game.
He declined to name a starter for the next contest.
"Tonight is one that he (Skinner) would like to have back, and we'll see what he's got in the future, whether that's Game 4 or Game 5 or whatever it is. We'll be seeing Stu again.
"I'm not committing to that (starting Skinner) or making a decision right now. Obviously, it's very emotional right now after a loss. We'll get together tomorrow as a staff and make a decision."
Knoblauch also told reporters that the 25-year-old was not dealing with an injury.
In seven playoff games this year, Skinner has a 2.96 goals-against average and a .888 save percentage.
Pickard entered the game having not played in the post-season. In 23 regular-season appearances, the 32-year-old netminder has 12 wins and posted a 2.45 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage.
