Edmonton rookie backup goalie Stuart Skinner will get the start on Saturday night against the visiting Vegas Golden Knights.
Skinner, 24, has a 3-4-0 record this season, with a 2.47 goals-against average and a .932 save percentage. He gets the start, despite having played in the Oilers' last game, which was a 3-1 loss on Wednesday to the Kings.
Jack Campbell, the team's No. 1 goalie, is 6-4, but has an .873 save percentage and is allowing almost two more goals per game (4.27) on average this season.
Skinner's save percentage was the third-best in the NHL heading into Saturday's games, behind only Boston's Linus Ullmark (.937) and the Jets' Connor Hellebuyck (.935).
Campbell has not started since a 7-2 loss to Carolina on Nov. 10.
