The Edmonton Oilers are going with regular starter Stuart Skinner in net for Sunday's must-win Game 6 against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Skinner was pulled in the Oilers' 4-3 Game 5 loss Friday after giving up four goals on 22 shots, including three in a 90-second stretch late in the second period.
It wasn't the first time that Skinner has been pulled this series, as he was also given the hook in Game 3 — a 5-1 win for Vegas.
After finishing the 2022-23 regular season with a .914 save percentage, the rookie netminder has seen his save percentage drop to .890 in 11 playoff games.
The Calder Trophy nominee has started every game for the Oilers this post-season, but none will be bigger than Game 6 Sunday. Trailing the Golden Knights 3-2 in the second-round series, an Edmonton loss would send the Oilers packing.
Backup Jack Campbell has a 5-1-0 career record against the Golden Knights, with a goals against average of 1.65 and a save percentage of .956 in those games.
Also making his return to the Oilers lineup will be defenceman Darnell Nurse, who is coming off a one-game suspension for an instigator penalty he picked up at the end of Game 4.
Likewise, for the Golden Knights, blueliner Alex Pietrangelo will return from the one-game suspension that he was dealt for a massive slash on Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl in Game 4.
You can watch Skinner and the Oilers try and force a Game 7 live on Sportsnet and SN NOW at 10 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. MT.
