Oilers' Yamamoto returns vs. Capitals but Hyman misses game

Edmonton Oilers winger Kailer Yamamoto was activated from injured reserve ahead of Monday's game against the Washington Capitals, but teammate Zach Hyman was unavailable for the contest.

Yamamoto missed most of November with an upper-body injury and has three assists in 13 games this season.

“It’s been a tough first start to the year…,” he told reporters Monday, according to the Edmonton Journal. “I’m back in the line-up. I’m fired up. It should be a good one tonight.”

Hyman missed practice Monday morning and did not take the ice for warmups ahead of the Capitals game. No details about his injury were immediately available.

Fans can watch the Oilers face the Capitals as part of Monday Night Hockey from coast to coast on Sportsnet and SN NOW beginning at 8:30 p.m. ET/ 6:30 p.m. PT.
