The New York Islanders have avoided arbitration with forward Oliver Wahlstrom with a one-year contract worth $1 million, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported Thursday.
Wahlstrom had two goals in 32 games this past season as he made his way back from a torn ACL that has limited him to 67 games over the last two years.
The 24-year-old was given a qualifying offer of $917,831 to avoid unrestricted free agency.
The Islanders selected Wahlstrom with the 11th overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft.
