Florida Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov will play in the Wednesday's Game 4 against the Carolina Hurricanes, head coach Paul Maurice announced.
Barkov left Monday's Game 3 early with a lower-body injury.
Barkov was hit by Hurricanes forward Jack Drury along the boards on his final shift. Although it was unclear as what exactly was injured on the play, he missed the final seven minutes of the first period and didn’t rejoin his teammates for the start of the second period.
Barkov has three points in the series, which the Panthers now lead 3-0. He has 12 points in 15 playoff games after collecting 78 points during the regular season.
With a win Wednesday, the Panthers would clinch a berth in the Stanley Cup Final, the franchise's first since 1996.
