Florida Panthers defenceman Radko Gudas is out for the remainder of Game 2 after taking a crushing hit by Vegas Golden Knights forward Ivan Barbashev on Monday.
Barbashev, who has been throwing his weight around liberally during the playoffs, laid out Gudas against the boards early in the first period. Gudas got up off the ice under his own power and made his way to the dressing room.
No penalty was called on the play. The Golden Knights' Jonathan Marchessault scored shortly after the hit to give Vegas a 1-0 lead.
No update on Gudas's condition was provided after the game.
The Golden Knights ultimately won the game 7-2 to take a 2-0 series lead in the Stanley Cup Final.
