The Florida Panthers have signed veteran defenceman Jaycob Megna to a one-year, two-way contract with a cap hit of $775,000 for the 2024-2025 season, the team announced Friday.
The six-foot-six, 31-year-old appeared in 44 games with the Chicago Blackhawks after being claimed off waivers during the 2023-24 season.
The Florida native will return home after recording 27 points through 185 career NHL games, as well as logging 370 at the AHL level.
Megna was originally a seventh-round selection at the 2012 NHL draft to the Anaheim Ducks and remained within the organization until the 2018-19 campaign.
