The Florida Panthers have traded forward Anthony Duclair to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for forward Steven Lorentz and a fifth-round pick in 2025.
Duclair, 27, has spent the last three seasons with the Panthers and has one year remaining on the three-year contract he signed with the team in 2021, which carries an AAV of $3 million.
The Pointe-Claire, Que., native started the 2022-23 season late after injuring his Achilles tendon in the off-season. In 20 regular-season games, he recorded nine points (two goals and seven assists) and then helped Florida as they advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals with 11 points (four goals and seven assists) in 20 post-season appearances.
Across 490 career NHL games, Duclair has recorded 261 points (122 goals and 139 assists) in total.
Lorentz, 27, had 19 points (10 goals and nine assists) in 80 games with the Sharks in 2022-23. It was his first season with the team after spending the previous two with the Carolina Hurricanes, who drafted him in the seventh round of the 2015 NHL Draft.
In 192 career NHL games, Lorentz has recorded 40 points (20 goals and 20 assists).
