The Pittsburgh Penguins acquired forward Maxim Cajkovic from the Minnesota Wild for defenceman Will Butcher, the teams announced Thursday.
Butcher, 29, has 16 goals and 98 assists for 114 points in 275 career NHL games with the New Jersey Devils, Buffalo Sabres and Penguins. This season, he has been limited to 14 games in the AHL with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
The 23-year-old Cajkovic, a third-round pick (89th overall) by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2019 NHL Draft, has yet to play an NHL game.
The Slovakian has split this season between the ACHL and ECHL with Iowa teams.
