Penguins, Blues swap forwards in minor-league trade

The St. Louis Blues acquired forward Corey Andonovski from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday in exchange for forward Mathias Laferriere.

Andonovski recorded five points (three goals and two assists) in 27 games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League this season.

The 25-year-old from Uxbridge, Ont., signed with the Penguins as an undrafted free agent in 2022 after spending three years at Princeton University.

He has 54 points (18 goals and 36 assists) in 157 career games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Laferriere has 10 points (two goals and eight assists) in 33 games with the AHL's Springfield Thunderbirds this season.

The 24-year-old from Montreal was drafted in the sixth round, 169th overall, by the Blues in 2018.

He has 70 points (21 goals and 49 assists) in 204 career games with Springfield.

Both players have yet to make their NHL debut.
