The Pittsburgh Penguins have claimed forward Jansen Harkins off waivers from the Winnipeg Jets on Monday.
Harkins was among five players placed on waivers by the Jets Sunday as NHL teams made their first round of cuts at training camp.
The 26-year-old has appeared in 154 career NHL games with the Jets registering 13 goals and 27 points. He was a key contributor for the Manitoba Moose in the AHL, registering 25 goals and 50 points in 44 games.
Forwards Kristian Reichel, Dominic Toninato and Jeff Malott and defenceman Ashton Sautner all cleared waivers.
