The Pittsburgh Penguins will be without one of their top forwards for their matchup against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday.
Evgeni Malkin will not play and is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, the team confirmed.
Malkin, 38, has eight goals and 24 assists in 41 games for the Penguins this season.
The 19-year NHL veteran crossed the 500-goal plateau earlier this season, and currently sits at 506 goals and 1328 points in his career.
Pittsburgh has lost three straight games and is fourth in the Metropolitan Division with a 17-17-7 record.
