Pittsburgh Penguins forward Philip Tomasino exited Friday's game against the Florida Panthers due to a lower-body injury.
Tomasino crashed into the boards early into the third period. He was slow to get up off the ice and was helped to the dressing room. The game was tied 1-1 at the time of the incident.
The 23-year-old from Mississauga, Ont., was acquired from the Nashville Predators on Nov. 25 for a fourth-round draft pick in 2027.
After recording just one assist in 11 games with the Predators, Tomasino has put up four goals and three assists in 15 games with the Penguins entering Friday's contest.
