The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed forward Joona Koppanen to a two-year deal with an AAV of $775,000, the club announced Saturday.
Koppanen, 25, was selected by the Boston Bruins in the fifth round of the 2015 NHL Draft and spent several seasons playing in their organization.
The 2022-23 season saw Koppanen primarily in the AHL with the Providence Bruins, where he recorded 35 points (12 goals and 23 assists) in 64 games. Koppanen made his NHL debut with Boston last season, along with four other appearances, recording a singular assist.
