Nashville Predators head coach John Hynes says the team is "hopeful" regarding starting goaltender Juuse Saros' playoff availability, but that they're still evaluating what his time frame will be.
"Right now Juuse is getting evaluated basically on what his time frame is gonna be," said Hynes on ESPN 102.5 The Game in Nashville. "We're hopeful, but I think at this point time it's important for him to get a bit of rest, let things settle down and see where he goes from here over the next few days."
Saros left Nashville's 5-4 overtime loss to the Calgary Flames Tuesday night with a lower-body injury with 6:32 remaining in the third period.
The Predators then announced Wednesday that he would miss the final two games of the regular season, and recalled Connor Ingram from AHL Milwaukee to backup David Rittich.
Saros picked up 38 wins, a 2.64 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage in 2021-22.
Nashville has already clinched a playoff for an eighth consecutive season but could still finish in the first or second wild-card spots. The team will close out the season on the road with stops in Colorado Thursday night and in Arizona on Friday.
