Nashville Predators defenceman Mark Borowiecki had to be taken off the ice on a stretcher on Saturday night.
Borowiecki was checked into the boards behind the Nashville goal during the second period by Flyers forward Morgan Frost in what seemed an innocuous play. But it appeared that Borowiecki's head made contact with the dasher and he went down and lay prone on the ice.
The 33-year-old Ottawa native is in his third season with Nashville and is a veteran of 454 NHL games.
More to come.
