The Toronto Maple Leafs aren't the only team with goalie problems for their season opener.
The Nashville Predators are dealing with their own goaltender woes, as regular starter Juuse Saros is being listed as day to day with a lower-body injury, per the Tennessean's Alex Daugherty on Wednesday.
Saros's status for Thursday's opener against the Dallas Stars is up in the air and head coach Andrew Brunette said the team has not made a decision on a starter.
With Saros banged-up, the Predators recalled goaltender Matt Murray from AHL Milwaukee.
Murray, 26, had a 14-15-2 record, 3.02 goals-against average, .896 save percentage and one shutout in 31 games for the AHL’s Texas Stars in 2023-24.
Saros, 29, put up a 35-24-5 record, 2.86 goals-against average and .906 save percentage over 64 appearances in 2023-24.
Outside of Saros and Murray, the Predators' other goaltending option for Thursday's opener is 32-year-old Brampton, Ont., native Scott Wedgewood.
