The struggling Nashville Predators got even more bad news on Tuesday.
Forwards Steven Stamkos and Luke Evangelista both exited a game against the Winnipeg Jets.
Stamkos played 9:30 before he left for the locker room midway through the second period. It was unclear what caused Stamkos to leave the game, but he did not return for the third period.
Evangelista suffered a lower-body injury in the second period after a hit from Jets defenceman Neal Pionk. The team then ruled out him for the remainder of the game.
Stamkos entered Tuesday's contest with 12 goals and 13 assists in 40 games. Evangelista has four goals and 10 assists in 38 games.
The Preds sit seventh in the Central Division and 14th in the Western Conference.
