Nashville Predators forward Yakov Trenin was given a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct for a second-period hit on Flyers forward Morgan Frost.
The play happened midway through the second period near the Predators blue line. As Frost attempted to play the puck along the boards, Trenin came across the ice and hit him hard in the back.
Frost was slow to get up but was able to skate off the ice and walk to the locker room. He did return to the game.
Trenin was initially given a two-minute penalty for an illegal hit to the head but the call was changed to a five-minute major for boarding, which was confirmed after a review.
Earlier in the game, Frost was credited with one of the strangest goals of the season when a puck bounced off his skate behind the Predators net and found its way into the net.
