The Vancouver Canucks captain just keeps making history.
On Sunday afternoon, Quinn Hughes assisted on a goal by Jake DeBrusk to become the Canucks' all-time leader in assists by a defenceman with 311, surpassing Alex Edler.
Hughes, 25, achieved this feat in just 388 games across parts of seven seasons.
The defenceman wasn't done on Sunday afternoon — adding another assist for his second of the game and 22nd on the year.
The 15th captain of the Canucks is coming off a Norris Trophy campaign in 2023-24, which saw him score 17 goals and 75 assists for 92 points — all career highs.
Hughes' five goals and 22 assists are second only to Colorado Avalanche's Cale Makar in defenceman scoring this year.
