The New York Rangers' depth will be tested early following a concerning pre-season game against the Islanders.
Rangers forward Artemi Panarin and defenceman Ryan Lindgren both exited Tuesday's game early after they sustained lower-body and upper-body injuries, respectively.
On Wednesday, USA Today's Vince Mercogliano reported that Panarin is being listed as day-to-day with his injury.
Panarin left Tuesday's game near the six-minute mark in the third period, however, it's unclear how the four-time All-Star was hurt.
The 32-year-old led the Rangers with 49 goals and 71 assists last season.
Lindgren, 26, exited in the first period after getting into a fight with Islanders defenceman Scott Mayfield.
Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette said Wednesday that Lindgren is expected to be "out at least a few weeks."
The Burnsville, Minn., native had three goals and 14 assists last season.
