The New York Rangers announced Tuesday that centre Filip Chytil will be sidelined four to six weeks due to an upper-body injury suffered during the team’s 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday.
Chytil was shaken up after a hard hit from the Penguins’ Evan Rodrigues during the second period. He initially remained on the bench, but eventually went to the locker room and did not return.
The 21-year-old was off to a fast start in his fourth campaign with the Rangers, racking up three points in five games, including a highlight-reel marker against the Penguins two days prior.

Chytil, the 21st pick in the 2017 draft, had 23 points in 60 games with the Rangers last season.
