New York Rangers star defenceman Adam Fox has been placed on injured reserve with an upper-body injury, the team announced Friday.
Fox was hurt Thursday in the third period against Columbus after he was hit by the Blue Jackets’ Vladislav Gavrikov. Fox went awkwardly into the boards and did not return.
The reigning Norris Trophy winner had seven goals and 40 assists in 44 games this season.
Fox is scheduled to play in the NHL All-Star Game next weekend in Las Vegas.
