The New York Rangers re-signed defenceman Zac Jones to a two-year contract extension Friday.
Jones will reportedly earn $800,000 during the first season and $825,000 during the second, according to Mollie Walker of The New York Post.
The 22-year-old from Richmond, Va., registered one goal and one assist in 16 games with the Rangers last season. He also had 31 points (eight goals and 23 assists) in 54 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.
Jones, who was set to become a restricted free agent on July 1, was drafted in the third round, 68th overall, by the Rangers in 2019. He has one goal and seven assists in 38 games over three seasons with the club.
