Rangers recall Othmann from AHL, could make NHL debut Thursday

The New York Rangers have recalled forward Brennan Othmann from AHL Hartford, the team announced Wednesday.

Othmann, a member of last year's gold medal-winning Canadian junior team, could make his NHL debut as soon as Thursday against the Chicago Blackhawks.

The move comes with fellow forward Tyler Pitlick out week-to-week with a lower-body injury, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports.

The 20-year-old Othmann, picked in the first round (16th overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft by the Rangers, has nine goals and 14 assists in 28 games for Hartford in his rookie pro season.
