Rangers sign defender Ryan Lindgren to three-year extension

The New York Rangers have inked defenceman Ryan Lindgren to a three-year deal, the club announced Monday.

While terms of the deal were not officially disclosed, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reports Lindgren’s new contract will carry an average annual value of $3 million.

The 23-year-old just wrapped up his second full season with the Rangers, putting up 16 points through 51 games this season while averaging 20 minutes per night.

Originally drafted 49th overall by the Bruins back in 2016, Lindgren was acquired by the Rangers as part of the 2018 deal that sent Rick Nash to Boston.
