The New York Rangers are trading forward Brendan Lemieux to the Los Angeles Kings for a fourth-round pick, the team confirmed on Saturday.
Lemieux — an agitator in the same ilk as his father, Claude — has seven points and 59 penalty minutes in 31 games with the Rangers, his third season on Broadway.
The 25-year-old was acquired by the Rangers in the 2019 trade deadline deal that sent Kevin Hayes to the Winnipeg Jets.
Over the course of 161 NHL games, the 2014 second-round pick (31st overall) has recorded 43 points and 299 PIMs.
With the addition of the Kings’ pick, the Rangers now have nine selections in the 2021 draft, including six in the first four rounds and three fourth-rounders.
