Rangers’ Trouba injured after collision with Capitals’ Wilson

New York Rangers captain Jacob Trouba heads to the locker room with an upper-body injury apparently sustained in a collision with Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson; Trouba would be ruled out for the game.

New York Rangers captain Jacob Trouba left Wednesday’s game against the Washington Capitals due to an upper-body injury.

Trouba made contact with Capitals forward Tom Wilson, catching the Rangers defenceman up high, early in the second period.

The 29-year-old Trouba has two goals and 11 assists in 32 games this season. He also leads the Rangers with an average ice time of 22:22 per game.

The Rangers entered the game with a 23-8-1 record and 47 points to lead the Eastern Conference.
