Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin has been suspended one game for roughing Mathieu Joseph of the Tampa Bay Lightning, the NHL’s Department of Player Safety announced Friday.
The incident occurred during the second period of Thursday’s game when Larkin was knocked into the boards and retaliated by taking a swing at Joseph. Larkin, who scored the Red Wings’ opening goal in the 7-6 overtime loss, was handed a match penalty while Joseph received two minutes for roughing.
Detroit will host the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday night.
