The Detroit Red Wings and centre Joe Veleno agreed to terms on a new one-year, $850,000 contract for next season, the team announced Tuesday.
Veleno was Detroit's last unsigned restricted free agent.
Veleno, 23, is coming off his first full NHL season in which he set new career-highs in goals (nine), assists (11) and points (20), while also taking on more defensive responsibilities with 152 hits and 44 blocked shots.
The Red Wings selected Veleno in the first round, 30th overall, in the 2018 NHL Draft. In 162 NHL games since making his debut in 2020-21, Veleno has 18 goals and 36 points.
