Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin exited Saturday's game after he collapsed to the ice when he was hit in the head area by Ottawa Senators players Mathieu Joseph and Parker Kelly.
Detroit announced that Larkin is still being evaluated by its medical staff and that he will not return to the contest.
The Red Wings captain lay motionless on the ice for a few moments after the incident. Thankfully, he was able to get back on his feet and left the ice with assistance.
Both Joseph and Kelly were assessed a two-minute minor penalty for roughing.
In the aftermath, Red Wings forward David Perron immediately went after Senators defenceman Artem Zub with a crosscheck and was eventually assessed a five-minute match penalty for intent to injure.
Larkin, 27, came into Saturday's game with 11 goals and 14 assists in 25 games for the Red Wings this season.
