The Detroit Red Wings have signed defenceman Jake Walman to a three-year extension with an average annual value of $3.4 million, the team announced Tuesday.
Walman, 27, has five goals and five assists in 40 games with the Red Wings this season.
The Red Wings acquired Walman and centre Oskar Sundqist in a deal with the St. Louis Blues for defencemen Nick Leddy and Luke Witkowskiat last year's trade deadline.
The Blues picked Walman in the third round (82nd overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft.
The Toronto-born Walman has nine goals and 13 assists for 22 points in 116 career NHL games.
