The Detroit Red Wings have signed their newly acquired forward Alex DeBrincat to a four-year, $31.5 million dollar extension, the team announced Sunday.
The Red Wings acquired the 25-year-old forward in a trade with the Ottawa Senators Sunday.
The Senators announced Sunday they acquired forward Dominik Kubalik, prospect defenceman Donovan Sebrango, a conditional 2024 first-round draft pick and Detroit's 2024 fourth-round selection from the Red Wings in exchange for DeBrincat.
The Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli reports that DeBrincat's AAV will be $8.25 million for the first three years of the contract, and $6.75 million in the final year. Seravalli also reports his contract includes a 16-team no-trade list.
